DQ Player is an offline video player with built-in WiFi file sharing.
Your videos and the files you share stay on your own devices. We do not
upload, collect or sell your media, and the app has no ads.
Permissions we need
:: Storage / Media permission : to find and play the videos on your device, and
to rename, move, copy or delete them when you ask.
:: Camera permission : used only to scan a QR code when you connect to another
device for file sharing. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent.
:: Internet and Network State permission : to run the local WiFi sharing server
on your own network, and to check whether a newer version of the app is
available.
:: Notification permission : to show you playback controls and file transfer
progress.
:: Foreground Service permission : so background audio playback and file
transfers keep running while you use other apps.
WiFi Share
Files are transferred directly between your devices over your local network.
They never pass through our servers and we never see them. Sharing only runs
while you turn it on, and every incoming connection must be approved on the
receiving device. When you stop sharing, the server shuts down.
Data the app does collect
DQ Player uses Firebase Cloud Messaging and Firebase Remote Config, provided by
Google. These use a device identifier (a messaging token) so we can send you
service notices, such as letting you know an update is available, and adjust app
settings remotely. This identifier is not linked to your name and is not used to
identify you personally.
Your playback history — such as where you stopped watching a video — is stored
only on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
Children
DQ Player is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect
personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
